If the applicant is below 4 years then carry a recent passport size photograph with the background. If the applicant is not visiting the passport Seva Kendra within 90 days of submission then the applicant needs to reapply.

How to apply for new passport – online form Registration Produce

Here is the procedure to be followed by the candidate who wants to apply for the passport via online procedure.

  1. At first, candidates should visit the official website

    Firstly the applicant needs to visit the official website of the passport Seva online portal http://www.passportindia.gov.in.

  2. Then you have to click on the register

    Now with a registered login ID, login to the Passport Seva online portal.

  3. If you are applying it freshly then click on “apply for fresh”

    If it is for renewal purposes then click on Re–issue of passport.

  4. Then fill the application form with the required details and submit it.

    Now click on payment and schedule an appointment

  5. Online payment is made necessary for booking appointments to all passport Seva Kendra/passport offices.

    Online payment can be made by your connivance that may be by credit/debit cards.

  6. Internet banking can also be done by (state bank of India, and associate banks only)

    After the payment is done then you will get a print application receipt (ARN number)

  7. Now with that application receipt, you have to visit passport Seva Kendra (PSK)/regional passport office (PRO)

    where the appointment has been booked, along with our original documents.

NOTE: only in emergency or in medical cases you can visit the passport Seva Kendra /regional passport Kendra without an appointment order.

    Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport including additional booklet due to exhaustion of visa pages (60 pages) of 10 years validity.

  4. Is a photo required for an online passport application?

    Yes, all applicants must include two colored images with a white backdrop (size 4.5 x 3.5 cm). Photographs should be pasted on the printed copy of the completed online application form. The first photograph must be attached to the first page of the application form without being signed or stamped.

  5. How long passport process takes?

    From the time an application is submitted to the time a new passport is acquired, routine service can take up to 18 weeks. On the front and back end, the 18-week timeline includes up to 12 weeks for processing and up to 6 weeks for mailing times.
