The NIT Sikkim officials are giving the opportunity for the eligible candidates to complete their Ph.D. programs in various areas like Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities, Social Sciences (Economics and English). NIT Sikkim Eligibility Criteria for the Ph.D programmes 2024
Educational Qualification
- The candidate should have completed a Master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology and having at least 65% marks/equivalent grade
- (or) The candidate should have completed a Master’s degree in Science with first-class marks/minimum 55% marks/equivalent grade
- (or) The candidate should have completed a Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, with a minimum 75% marks/equivalent grade
- Candidates applying for admissions in Humanities and Social Sciences should have the following additional requirements
- GATE/CEED score
- CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ DST award or fellowship
- Minimum one year of professional experience
- Minimum six months project work experience in the institute
- Note: For SC/ST candidates a relaxation of 5 percent marks or its equivalent grade will be considered
Application Fee Details
Every applicant needs to pay Rs. 500/- (Rs 100 for SC/ST) through Demand Draft which should be drawn in favor of “Director, NIT Sikkim”, payable at Ravangla.
